Patrick Clark is a private brass instructor and music teacher in the Metro-Atlanta area. Mr. Clark received a bachelor of music education degree from West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV in 2005. While at WVU, he was the principal euphoniumist with the Wind Symphony, and twice was featured as a soloist with this group. Also a very active jazz musician, he did lead and solo trombone work with the Jazz Ensemble 1 and many small jazz combos. He studied privately on trombone and euphonium with Dr. Keith Jackson, conducting with Lawrence Christianson, and jazz improvisation with Paul Scea.

While he was attending WVU, Mr. Clark accepted a position playing baritone with the River City Brass Band in Pittsburgh, PA, and continued performing professionally with the band after graduation. He performed as soloist on two concert series playing trombone and baritone. Later he became the publishing coordinator and librarian for the band.

Mr. Clark’s work as a freelance musician includes the Balcony Big Band, the Roger Humphries Big Band, and the Charleston Symphony Orchestra. He has been heard in performances with the Canadian Brass, Boston Brass, Arturo Sandoval, Maynard Ferguson, and the “President’s Own” Marine Band. He can be heard playing trombone and euphonium on the 2005 self-titled CD “Adam Evil and the Outside Royalty”, a rock band based in London, England. In 2006, he was a guest artist with the Pittsburgh Philharmonic performing Herman Bellstedt’s “Napoli”.

After moving to Georgia, Mr. Clark was an assistant band director at Tapp Middle School in Cobb County and has since accepted the position of Music Specialist at Pitner Elementary School. He is currently on the Marching Band Staff at Kell and McEachern High Schools and directs the Jazz Ensembles at McEachern as well. Past teaching positions include elementary/middle school band director with the Pittsburgh Catholic Diocese and the assistant conductor of the Pittsburgh Youth Pops Orchestra.
